In less then 4 years in a new house, I've had atleast 4 HVAC service calls. 2 calls have resulted in the need to replace the evaporator coil.

While it's under warranty, the labor has cost me over $1,000. I don't understand why I should have to pay labor for a bad product.

When a car manufacturer announces a recall, they replace the part and do not charge for labor. How come HVAC manufacturers don't have to stand by their product in this manner ?

One recall on cars are considered safety issues if not they charge you for it. If hard@***k was honest then he would tell you that all heating and cooling manufactures have had this problem with indoor coil leaks in the recent past they have said its called formicary corrosion and it has to do with houses being built so tight I don't know if that's true but that is what they told me.

You installer should have offered you the labor warranty for 300.00 its a No brainer since they dont make anything like they use to. I've been installing goodman for ten years never had problems getting paid and we've had very few warranty calls.

My opinion is all brands are made with the same parts so it comes down to your installer to install it correctly design the duct correctly to make you happy with your new system. The more expensive units just spend more on branding and advertising.

I am honest, and I'll tell you what you don't seem to know. All coils are not made to the same specs; formicary corrosion is absolutely never a reason for evaporator coil leaks due to the tightness of house construction; I also know of a few contractors that have no problem of getting paid on extended warranties but I know of several contractors who do not get paid.

I for one have had warranty claims that were 2 years old and only after submitting them 5 or 6 times did I finally get paid. I have been running them through another contractors company just to get paid, and I currently have 28 (and growing) claims that are 9 months old at this point that they are not paying. The lawsuit has now been filed against them for their fraudulent business practices and antitrust violations. The Goodman company conducts business very dishonestly and crooked.

They do not stand behind 100% of their warranties, they will not provide warranty parts 100% of the time, and they will not have any concern for the homeowners or contractors who have had the misfortune to have dealt with their product. Since Daikin bought them recently, they are stocking far less warranty replacement parts and making it increasingly more difficult to repair their garbage equipment. They are even charging contractors to ship warranty parts if they don't stock them at their branch. All brands are not made with the same parts and you would know that if you had experience with their circuit boards that are tailored only to their units.

Installers can install equipment correctly, but Goodman equipment fails at a far higher rate than any other brand. From thin & flimsy cabinets, poor unit construction, cheaply made parts (yes there is a difference) and a company that can and has opted not to provide warranty parts and support for their equipment they claim to put 10 years warranty on, and often does not pay out on their own warranty claims...

There is no defense for this piracy.

We've never had problems getting paid via goodman.

A lawsuit has been filed? That's a pretty rare and serious occurance in today's legal system.

"They are even charging contractors to ship warranty parts if they don't stock them at their branch"

That quote, clearly shows your not a contractor.

Please post which "goodman" branch your picking up parts from.

Down in Georgia, I'm gonna guess it's Johnstone supply, which is NOT associated with goodman. They are all privately owned businesses. So it's not goodman's issue. It's your distributors.

if you were a bit less blinded by your "one or two" experiences with Goodman you might be more believable but your ranting makes you irrelevant to this discussion. formicary corrosion is a well established issue in the HVAC industry and if you shut your trap and studied the issue a bit you would be less inclined to embarrass yourself as you have done here.

the purchase of Goodman by Daikin has in fact improved the Goodman product reliability so again your rants are quite incorrect and again display your ignorance of this industry, are you a plumber?

I am a hvac contractor for 33 years. I run a reputable company and have had the misfortune to have installed this brand and bought dozens of extended warranties for my customers.

Their breakdown rate is no less than 50% and they don't even pay their warranty claims they owe me! They now refuse to supply me with parts to correct the garbage they sold.

We are the unfortunate owners of a brand new Goodman AC that does not perform well.

After contacting the dealer they came by to reassure s that our heath pump is fine aldo it performs poorly, I contacted Goodman, Goodman did not cooperate at all, they were not interested in my problems, the end: Goodman blames the dealer, the dealer does not take any action and I have to pay the power bill or fix it my self. Thanks a lot guys....
